Walk up to a lookout where you can see Kā Roimata o Hine Hukatere - Franz Josef Glacier. Find out why Aotearoa is such a stunning landscape and why it has so many earthquakes.
Digging up the Past
Talk to Alice about a well-known gold prospector and geologist who first discovered and named the Alpine Fault.
Where Two Plates Collide
Hike up to where you can touch the Alpine Fault at Gaunt Creek and find out more about the movement on the plate boundary.

Resilient Infrastructure in a Vulnerable Landscape
Head up into the mountains to look at some of the infrastructure that is at risk during earthquakes. Find out what has been done to make this infrastructure more resilient to earthquakes.
Quake Roadshow at South Westland Area School
Join students from South Westland Area School in Harihari. Discover what they have learned about earthquakes from the AF8 roadshow.
Quake Safe Your Home
Use a model and shake-table to see how you and your whānau can fix and fasten items in your home to make it more quake safe.
