Meet Hamish Utteridge
Job:
Communications Advisor on the Waikato Expressway Hamilton Section.
Job description:
External and internal communications/communicating with project stakeholders.
Work background:
Graduated from the University of Waikato – have been in this role for over 2 years.
Favourite part of job:
Meeting some of our neighbours of the project and hearing their stories (having cups of tea with them) and making/editing video for the project website.
Least favourite part of job:
Unpredictable changes in the project program that we have to communicate to the public.
What I am working on now:
Various stakeholder issues including gaining stakeholder approval for after-hours works and writing content for the internal newsletter.
A quick story about a job well done:
There has been a number of occasions where from consistent and honest communication we have been able to satisfy some of our most un-satisfied stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts - English and Linguistics.
Interests outside work:
Football (soccer), writing, drawing and music.
