Job description: 

I help make sure our communities and customers know what Wellington Water is doing and why.

Work background: 

I’ve worked at Wellington Water for about 8 years.

Favourite part of job: 

Meeting people from the community, and finding out about the interesting things my colleagues are doing.

Least favourite part of job: 

Clearing my emails.

What I am working on now: 

We want to know more about what customers really value about the three waters, and what they think about Wellington Water. So, we’re developing a research programme to help find out that information. Once we know more about what people like, we’ll be able to improve our service.

A quick story about a job well done: 

Just the other day we went out to a primary school and talked and asked questions about the three waters. The children were really interested, and they weren’t too mean to us even though their school had been flooded a couple of times.

A (humorous) story about a job that went badly and what you learned: 

Recently we held a street barbecue to say thanks to the residents where we’d been renewing their stormwater pipe. I learned that I’m not much good at barbequing lots of sausages at once! Fortunately, my workmate’s partner is so people didn’t have to wait hours for their snarlers!

Qualifications: 

I have a Master's in Business Administration, a Bachelor’s degree, and a post graduate diploma in communications.

Interests outside work: 

I like movies, mountainbiking, and spending time with my family.
