Meet Ninja Helmling
Job:
1st Mate.
Job description:
Running around making sure every body else is running around; bad cop; occasionally playing with sails.
Work background:
Sailing to the corners of the world.
Favourite part of job:
Menus and seeing the trainees grow beyond themselves in just ten days.
Least favourite part of job:
Putting "the kids" to bed.
What I am working on now:
Filling in this form during my leave.
A quick story about a job well done:
For the tall ships race last year we managed to set all the sails in 7 minutes! That was fun.
Qualifications:
Chief Mate/ Master Sailing Ships up to 3000t, sailing area unlimited; and Journalist (specializing in economics).
Interests outside work:
Surfing, sailing, going places, weaving, exploring stuff, creating stuff, fixing my van, playing music, reading; sitting on my veranda looking at the ocean, making coffees.
