Hannah and Zoe

  • Hannah - Singing.

Goals/ambitions

  • Hannah - To be on X Factor.
  • Zoe - To write and illustrate a book.

A clear memory from the Christchurch earthquakes

  • Hannah - (Feb 22) I was at school putting my lunchbox away when the earthquake happened. I fell onto my tummy and was bouncing around.
  • Zoe - (Sep 4) Waking up to my mum dragging me over the edge of my bunk bed and into a a doorway, then down to my siblings' room. Everything was shaking and I didn't know what was happening

Something that is done differently now (at home or at school) as a result of your experiences with the earthquakes

  • Hannah - At school we do earthquake drills more often.
  • Zoe - Now at school we have more earthquake drills and at home we have two big bottles of water and an electronic radio.

An outcome you would expect from participation in ShakeOut

  • Zoe - Everyone will be more educated about earthquakes and be prepared and know what to do in the event of an earthquake.

Alex and Bradley

Favourite subjects

  • Alex - Football and PE.
  • Bradley - Reading, writing, maths.

Goals/ambitions

  • Alex - Professional football player or lawyer.
  • Bradley - To get up a level in basic facts.

A clear memory from the Christchurch earthquakes

  • Alex - Walking home down Hulverstone Drive, with cracks in the road and dust everywhere.
  • Bradley - I was in bed when the September 4 earthquake happened. I slept through it until my dad woke me up. I started to cry when he told me what had just happened.

Something that is done differently now (at home or at school) as a result of your experiences with the earthquakes

  • Alex - We do a lot more drills at school.
  • Bradley - We have moved the table closer to the game cupboard, so in an earthquake we're closer to all the games.

An outcome you would expect from participation in ShakeOut

  • Alex - I would be confident about what to do if there was another earthquake.
